I named my company
Targeting Wellness
because I believe that when we focus on self-care, we continue to move in the direction of vitality, overall well-being, and unconditional happiness. I look at wellness as a choice, not a chore. It is something we work towards because we love ourselves and want to enjoy life to the fullest.
My professional journey to target wellness...
I am a board-certified Health Empowerment Coach through NBHWC. I am also a certified Mental Fitness Coach through Positive Intelligence, certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through eCornell, and Group Exercise Trainer through American Council on Exercise (ACE).
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from West Chester University and a Master’s in Wellness and Lifestyle Management from Rowan University, I founded Targeting Wellness, LLC, in 2012 with a mission to help organizations create a "culture of wellness" where employees can be empowered and supported in becoming the best version of themselves. My extensive background in corporate environments, as well as deep roots in personal growth, give me the experience and compassion to help others find a balance in life and work - gaining the fortitude to experience both productivity and overall well-being.
Throughout most of my life, I felt entangled in the grip of relentless, self-sabotaging thoughts that held me captive in the clutches of fear. Fear of failure, fear of making mistakes, fear of standing out, and fear of appearing foolish. These internal adversaries hindered my pursuit of my true purpose, paralyzing me and obstructing my journey toward the things that truly brought me happiness and joy. My self-esteem languished in a perpetual state of self-doubt, continually seeking external validation yet struggling to receive and believe the validation when it came my way.
My perfectionist tendencies manifested in various facets of my life, particularly in the realm of body image, always striving for improvement, maintaining an ideal appearance, and trying to exert control over every facet of my existence. Overwhelmed by my own patterns of self-criticism and unattainable expectations, I discovered something very profound in myself that gave me the courage to change. I can choose how I think! This set me on a quest for transformation through extensive book reading, educational training, research, meditation, therapy, and journaling.
In the process, I received an M.A. in Wellness and LIfestyle Management, and I began to witness my true self, shedding the need for perfection, and embracing my authenticity and life's course. I have come to accept that I am a perpetual work in progress, no longer tethered to the relentless pursuit of an unattainable ideal.
If any of this resonates with you and you are ready to embark on your own transformative journey towards profound life changes and newfound freedom, let’s connect and see how you, too, can transform your life. The first step is to give yourself permission to put yourself first.
I finally heard my hearts whisper and found the courage to be "un-apologetically" ME!
I continue to learn and practice appreciating all my beautiful imperfectness with grace and compassion.
